James Sealey

James has worked in live events since his teens, supporting high school productions with lighting and sound, and DJing at weddings and parties. James quickly found work as a live sound engineer, and worked for many years in the local live music scene in North Wales, Chester and Liverpool.

In 2011 he began working for a AV/production company based in Hertfordshire, and transitioned his skills into the world of corporate events, mixing award shows and large conferences, project managing and training junior team members.

2018 saw James persue an alternative role at production company, Stagestruck, as their Technical Engineer. Offering advice on systems and equipment to producers and project managers, plus overseeing the periodic inspection and testing of all equipment used on site on events, James was also responsible for maintaining and repairing kit when things didn't go to plan, as well as the design and construction of custom solutions, and additionally provided informal electrical training to staff internally, aptly named 'Mains with James' by the companys Technical Manager.

Recognising a need within the industry for more people with electrical experience, skills and competence, James began to specialise in this area, receiving City & Guilds qualifications for BS7671:2018 'The Wiring Regs', BS7909:2011 'Temporary Electrical Systems', Level 3 In-Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment, plus the Management Requirements thereof.

These formal qualfications, coupled with James' many years of industry experience, give him an excellent perspective when it comes to electrical planning, maintenance and safety on events.
